We’re a small, friendly music school in Newtownards offering practical, enjoyable lessons that help you actually play music you love.

Junior Afrifa — Owner & Guitar Tutor

I started teaching guitar from a simple love of music and a belief that lessons should be engaging, down‑to‑earth, and open to everyone.

I’ve been playing since I was a teenager and working professionally for over 15 years. I’ve been a full-time musician since the age of 18.

When I began teaching friends and local musicians in Newtownards, I focused on three things:

• Practical skills you can use straight away

• Songs and styles students actually want to play

• Building confidence to perform

Word of mouth grew, and students recommended me for my patient approach and clear explanations. I then developed structured lesson plans, age‑appropriate materials, and flexible scheduling for all types of players — from complete beginners and hobbyists to aspiring performers.

Alongside teaching, I’ve played internationally, released multiple albums, and performed several sold‑out shows at the Ards International Guitar Festival. This real‑world experience shapes my lessons, so you learn not just exercises, but how to use them in songs, gigs, and recordings if that’s your goal.

Today, I bring over 15 years of playing and teaching experience to every lesson. My aim is simple: make learning guitar enjoyable, practical, and tailored to you, so you build a lifelong skill that lasts.

Corey Hodges — Drum Tutor

Corey is an experienced drum tutor offering one‑to‑one lessons for beginners through to advanced players.

His teaching focuses on:

• Technique and control – play with ease and avoid bad habits.

• Timing and groove – lock in with solid time and feel.

• Musicality – have fun learning something challenging and rewarding.

Corey teaches a range of styles, including rock, pop, heavy metal, blues and funk, and can help with reading drum score, coordination and developing your own sound.
